[30 Day Writing Challenge] Day 30

I’m so sad that I didn’t manage to update/post for 30 days straight for this challenge. But something came up on Thursday night that completely took my attention and it just slipped through my mind.

And then yesterday, the internet connection was so bad that I gave up and went to bed instead. So here is last entry to the 30 Day challenge.

As always, here is the list of all of the 30 day challenge I am doing at the moment.

Disclaimer: All of the characters are fictional. Any details that may be similar to a real person is entirely coincidental.

—–

It was a quiet evening. They had been having more and more of them recently. He didn’t mind it though, spending time with Riley was always good in his book. He supposed they had been together long enough not to need things to do to fill the space between them.

It also helped that they had known each other for longer, that they were friends first. The companionship was definitely familiar and gave him more comfort than what he normally acknowledged.

They were not officially living together yet but he had definitely been spending more nights in Riley’s flat than his for the past month or so. He had actually taken to leaving a toothbrush at Riley’s place and a couple sets of spare clothes, just in case.

His own place was larger but Riley’s was closer to the city centre. He wondered when they would decide where to move in together. He wasn’t sure either if he preferred his place more or Riley’s.

May be they would find somewhere new together. His lease was coming up in 2 months anyway so may be that would be a good time to talk about things and decide.

He would cross that bridge when they got to it.

Dinner tonight was made by Riley. They didn’t really have ‘roles’ in the relationship. They both took turns cooking and doing the dishes. Though he was particularly more partial to doing the laundry and ironing than cleaning the flat.

He was also pretty sure that they both hated cleaning the bathroom so they would probably have to come up with some sort of rota for that once they had moved in together.

His body froze by the window once he realised what he was idly thinking.

(Another pro of Riley’s place was that he got a ridiculous view out the bedroom window. He liked to tease Riley that he stayed over because of the view more than anything else.)

Once they had moved in together.‘ Huh, not ‘if’ but ‘once‘ like it was certainty.

So even though he wasn’t sure where they would move in together, the moving-in-together was definitely going to happen. And what made him stop in his tracks wasn’t the fear that Riley wasn’t going to be on board with it.

If there was one thing he was certain, it was that Riley was as serious about their relationship as he was. If not more… He wouldn’t be surprised if Riley was already looking into the process of moving in together even though they hadn’t been together for a year yet.

He just had never realised up until this point that how sure he was in this relationship. And it was making him… happy. Really happy.

“C’mon Ashley, come to bed.” He turned around to see Riley taking off his shirt.

He wanted more nights like this. Just them together in bed, legs entwined under the soft duvet to keep them warm.

The silver dust of moonlight settled coldly on the night.

—–

Day 30 —Write a short entry that ends with the line, “The silver dust of moonlight settled coldly on the night.”

Yay! It’s done! Hopefully the last line doesn’t clash with the fluff in the story. They are happy together even if it’s cold outside! Because they are cuddling under the blanket! I’m jealous! xD

I’m a bit sad that I didn’t manage to complete this challenge within 30 days but I am so glad that I’ve done it and that it’s now done! Even if it’s two days late but hey, better late than never!!

I’m not sure how long it’s going to be before I update the blog again… I’m not going to lie, I have been looking forward to not having to update the blog every day. But I’m hoping that I would be updating the blog more often.

It’s a Saturday! But I’ve been unsuccessfully trying to work but I really can’t procrastinate anymore and should get going with it. Urgh.

Hope your Saturday is going much better than mine!

With love,

From GZ

PS – I believe that this is my 68th entry which means that I have posted 34 blog posts this year already and it’s only the beginning of March! I only need to post one more entry before 1 January 2018 to hit my goal of updating my blog more often than last year! Whoo! xD

PPS – Also, anybody recognise where else have the characters in today’s challenge have come up before? 😉

[30 Day Writing Challenge] Day 29

As always, here is the list of all of the 30 day challenge I am doing at the moment.

Disclaimer: All of the characters are fictional. Any details that may be similar to a real person is entirely coincidental.

—–

It was a cloudy day. There was a breeze here and there but it wasn’t cold. The weather had been getting warmer gradually and I was just happy to be out of the house.

However, my feet had taken me up a hill and turned towards an unfamiliar ground.

Well, unfamiliar in a sense that I had never stepped foot in here before.

I had been walking pass the Trenzalore Cemetery even since I had moved into this town but had never gone in before. A cemetery wasn’t really a place you would want to just take a stroll around anyway.

But today, as I was in a mood, I just went where my feet took me. So here I am.

I didn’t feel like I want to take a walk around this place, I didn’t want to be disrespectful towards the dead and all, but my feet kept moving.

Before I knew it, I was tracing over the words on the gravestones with my eyes, one by one.

Austyn

Chichi

Nadiye

And then my eyes caught on a smaller gravestone.

Lora Veronika Acquati

A darling daughter and sweet sister.

In ever loving memory.

I found it a bit odd that she was only referred to as a daughter and sister until I did the maths in my head from the year.

She was only 4 years old.

I was hit with a sense of sadness.

Lora Veronika Acquati

She sounds like a cheerful little girl, with pigtails and bright smiles. I could see that the area around her gravestone was well-tended to and I imagined one of her family regularly.

I wondered if she died of sickness or an accident. Neither one was better than other. Though I suppose, I would like to think that she led a happy life. Perhaps she was the youngest one in the family, doted on not only her parents, but her siblings too.

May be, her siblings were much older and they all spoiled her a little. A big brother who would give her piggy back rides and a sister who would sing to her at night.

A father who was never short of soothing words and a mother who gave the warmest hug.

4 years were a blink of an eye. A time too short, a family robbed of many more happy memories.

I wondered if Lora liked to play with dolls or run outside more. May be she would beg to go out to fly a kite on a Sunday.

I let me myself conjured up a picture of her with an ice-cream cone in the sweltering summer. I saw a little girl with a beautiful smile building a snowman with her friends. May be she liked playing pirates with her family.

I hoped, dearly, that the family was doing ok. A blow like this was hard to recover from.

Hopefully, they could all smile at the memory of this little girl now.

Lora Veronika Acquati

May you rest in peace.

—–

Day 29 —You are at a cemetery reading gravestones.  Write about one of the people you find.

This was a bit more difficult but wasn’t too bad. As I was writing and look for names, I just had a sense that I wanted to make this a bit of a sad one. And a child passing before their time is always heartbreaking.

The age of the girl was from the last line of one the poems I still remember very well even though it has been over a decade now since I’d studied it in school.

“A four-foot box, a foot for every year.” Mid-Term Break by Seamus Heaney

It still breaks my heart a little reading this poem now. But it’s also so beautifully written.

Right, I think I’ll end the entry here. One more challenge left! Can’t wait for it xD

With love,

[30 Day Writing Challenge] Day 28

First of all,  here is the list of all of the 30 day challenge I am doing at the moment.

Secondly, it has just come to my attention that I shouldn’t name all of these entries “February Writing Challenge” because it will overrun into March! So I’ve been going back to change as many entries as I can… ^^” Nearly done now but I think it’s time I tackle today’s challenge first.

—–

Dear diary,

I’ve just finished reading Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secret that belongs to my sister and Ginny had a diary so I want one too. I’m reading Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban now. Can’t wait to find out what’s going to happen!

* * *

X(

I finished reading Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and my sister won’t let me read more!!! She’s so mean! She said I’m too young but I can totally read it! And I can’t get it from the library because it’s in the section for the older kids! I don’t know why my sister has to act like she’s mum. But she tickles my neck and sleeps with me until I fall asleep so I’ll forgive her.

* * *

😦

My sister’s going away again. I’m so sad. Who am I gonna play with and sleep with and who’s gonna scratch my back now? I don’t want her to go but mum says she has to. Why do she have to??

* * *

😀

My sister’s coming back tomorrowwwwwwwwwwwwwwww We’ll go out and eat and play and she’ll tuck me in bed againnnnnnn yayyyyyyyy

* * *

😀

My sister’s letting me read the rest of Harry Potter books!! YAYYYYYY But it’s only because my teacher’s says it’s ok and my friends are already reading it. She’s so strict but now she can’t say no! I can’t wait to find out what’s gonna happen!

* * *

😦

Sister’s working a lot especially at night time. I really don’t like it but mum said that it’s good for her job. She still wakes up to go send me to school on some days though. But she doesn’t like to talk in the morning and she doesn’t like to play games or let me listen to music or watch anything together often

* * *

:(((

My sister’s moving to China. She’s got a job there. Who am I going to bug now to watch Arashi or the Youtubers together?? Especially now that I’ve managed to get her to like some Youtubers. She still hasn’t warmed up to Joe or Caspar though but I will keep bugging her to watch the funny ones with me!

And mum said she’ll come back home often… I hope China’s fun. We are going to go stay with her for 3 weeks.

* * *

China isn’t fun. We don’t really go out at all when my sister goes to work and the wifi is so bad. Even though she lets us use her laptop it’s still not so fast and I can’t watch anything on Youtube :((( And when my sister comes back, she’s working!

* * *

Dear diary,

My sister’s coming back to Thailand today! 😀 Finally! So we can go to Central World and eat expensive Japanese food again! xD Apparently she’s been into Alfie’s vlog so may be we can watch some together.

Oh! And I got to ask her to help me get some books too. She’s always nicer than mum when it comes to buying new books. Yay!

—–

Day 28 —You read about yourself in your brother/sister, girlfriend/boyfriend’s diary.  What did you read?

I’ve tried my best to write from my sister’s point of view, but man, it’s hard!

So yeah, 2 more entries and I will be finished with this challenge~ Whoo! And it’s also the end of February. That’s 1/6 of 2017 already gone… wow… Time really goes by much faster when you are older, lol.

Hope you all had a great Tuesday~

With love,

[30 Day Writing Challenge] Day 27

As always, here is the list of all of the 30 day challenge I am doing at the moment.

Here is my attempt for today’s prompt.

—–

It was a sunny day, perfect to spend in a water park. I was very excited because I’d never been to a water park outside of Thailand before.

There were slides that I wasn’t sure if I wanted to go on yet but I think I should give it a go. The current ‘pool’ looked great as well. You could just float around without having to swim.

I did end up going on the water slides. It was super scary in the beginning but after I got over my fear, sliding down was a lot of fun.

I always panicked a little when I didn’t have all of the control. However, at the same time, I liked the thrill of coming down a slope. So to me, a big slide was a bit of a conflicted feeling. On one hand, I was scared about it. On another hand, I couldn’t wait to feel the wind in my hair and the swoop in my stomach.

There were many other people my age on this trip too and we had fun together. However, I still ended up in the current ‘pool’ alone. I wanted to explore the water park and this ‘pool’ went all the way around it. There were many places where the slides ended up in this ‘pool’ too.

I was swimming along just fine, until I reached one joining point.

One minute I was above the surface, doing just fine. And then somehow, I got swept under.

The sound quietened under water and I could hear the rushing of my own blood through my ears. I could see underwater and I knew that I only had to kick my legs to the surface.

But somehow, the current kept sweeping me under. For a moment, I was sure that this was it. I would struggle but I wouldn’t be able to get to the surface. And I would drown.

It was strange how quiet it was. The panic was there but so was an odd sense of calm.

And then I somehow made it to the surface. The crazy thing was, I could probably stand in that ‘pool’. It wasn’t deep at all. And the current wasn’t too strong that I couldn’t stay in one place. Also, it wasn’t like I couldn’t swim or was a weak swimmer.

I had been swimming from the beginning of my primary school and I was in Middle school then. I was a pretty strong and confident swimmer.

But water was a dangerous thing. You only needed 2 inches of water to drown.

So I gasped for air and made my way to the edge.

May be that was enough fun in the water for one day.

—–

Day 27 —Make up a near-death experience (unless you have a real one).

If you have read my other post for this challenge, you would probably have known about this story already. I tweaked it a bit, filling out the details that I couldn’t remember and tried to make it a bit more dramatic.

But yeah, I remember this. The almost drowning and that thought that may be this was the end. It was pretty scary. I’m glad though that it hasn’t put me off swimming. It’s just made me more careful about it.

It’s Monday and it’s passed 9pm so I’m going to sign off here. I almost forgot that I had this entry to make as well… ^^”

Hope you all had a good start to the week!

With love,

From GZ

PS – super busy day with full day of work and then had to go out for work in the late afternoon too. Very much looking forward to sleep now. zzz

[30 Day Writing Challenge] Day 25

As always, here is the list of all of the 30 day challenge I am doing at the moment.

Here is my attempt to today’s prompt.

Disclaimer: All of the characters are fictional. Any details that may be similar to a real person is entirely coincidental.

Someone asked her once, what it was like living next to the famous duo. It confused her at first, who were they referring to? She would know if she lived next to famous people, Louise would never keep her out of the loop.

“You know, Bente and Shavonne.”

Oh, them? They were just lovely girls who rent out a floor from Louise’s building. She didn’t know they were famous.

“They got millions of people watching their videos on Youtube!”

That didn’t really clear up a lot of things, she thought that Youtube was just another website kids these day were crazy about. However, she could indulge the two teens. They seemed quite eager to know about… well, anything she would divulge to them.

“They are quite lovely girls. They bought me a laptop for Christmas a couple of years ago and helped me set it up so I can talk to my boys in the States.” She saw the teens’ eyes lit up as they hung on to her every word.

“Louise always gushes about them, when they are not damaging her floor that is. Apparently they move furniture around quite a bit. They can be a bit loud sometimes, whatever it is they are doing. My tenants complain about the noise in the middle of the night too. One of them, I think it’s Bente, likes playing the piano in the early morning.” She frowns because she definitely had heard some jazz rendition before the sun rose more than once.

“She’s good, mind you, just not at 3 o’clock in the morning.”

“Oh! Oh! And do you think they are seeing each other?” One of the girls piped up to ask, excitedly.

“Seeing each other?”

“Yeah, like dating!” The other one chimed in and they both waited for her answer with unconcealed anticipation.

“I believe that is none of our business, dears. If they haven’t made it public what their relationship is, then it is definitely not our job to go prying.” Her voice became quite stern, the teacher in her came back on. She didn’t know if it was her place to say but someone ought to tell these girls that we shouldn’t be too nosy.

She wasn’t going to tell them that Shavonne was one of the numerous people Bente had brought home with her after a night out. She actually saw it that night. She was just closing her curtain for the night and caught sight of Bente running down the street.

Then she saw another girl running after and they both ended up giggling to themselves as Bente tried to open the front door. They were pressed very close to each other, it did not look platonic.

She didn’t expect to see the same girl again but Shavonne kept coming back. Louise had shared with her that she hoped this one would stay because she was a nice girl who made Bente happy.

That was four years ago. The rest, as they say, was history.

—–

Day 25 —Write a story about ‘What the Neighbors Saw.’

Not sure if this fits the prompt but I had a lot of fun writing it! Especially finding out names for my characters, that was a lot of fun.

I hope you enjoyed this as much as I had writing it! And that you are having a lovely weekend. I’m having a quiet day in, which is great because it’s so cold and a bit grey outside. Definitely the kind of day to be snuggling to my blanket on the couch ;p

With love,

From GZ

PS – I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned this yet but I was silly enough to accidentally drop a mug on my toe last Sunday. The finger isn’t swollen now and I can actually wear socks but I didn’t think it would be wise to be on my feet hence the staying-in-on-a-Saturday decision.

PPS – GZ is still confused with its weather. The temperature dropped to single digit yesterday and hence why I’m in the middle of two heaters. And apparently, it will warm up again tomorrow. GZ, please make up your mind. My body and closet is confused.

[30 Day Writing Challenge] Day 23

As always, here is the list of all of the 30 day challenge I am doing at the moment.

Another a creative one, blimey! Here goes.

—–

The sun is shining brightly when she wakes up. Or, well, she thinks it’s shining brightly. The sunshine doesn’t quite reach her home underground. She shakes her pale pink fur to wake up. Her long ears twitch before she hops to find some breakfast. There are some carrots left from yesterday and they are still as delicious.

She has a busy day ahead of her. Work in the garden first, then meeting the others in the afternoon.

When she climbs up from her hole, she sees her garden first. The place where she has sweated over since Winter has said goodbye.

Her vegetable is growing quite nicely and she thinks her berries will give their fruit soon. She cannot wait to eat them.

She picks up her gardening tools, puts on her straw hat and gets to work. The morning is the best time to do work since the sunshine isn’t too hot or bright yet. The cabbage needs tending to today while the turnips and potatoes are ready to eat.

She hums a nameless song as she works. She waters the plants last before calling it done for the day. She’s thinking about expanding the garden for a blackberry bush too…

Lunch is a simple potato salad down in her home. She takes a shower to wash away the dirt from her morning work too before going out to see her friends.

The Blue Bird and White Goose are planning to go have a look at the new pond on the other side of the wood today. She doesn’t have such a high hope for it though. The last time the Blue Bird got excited over something he sees, it turned out to be something disappointing.

However, she is glad to be wrong. The pond turns out to be not too small and water is just cool enough for the afternoon sun. The White Goose really likes it and she won’t complain about having a new place to lounge near by either.

Swimming isn’t really her thing though so she is more than happy to sit by the edge and makes friends with the frogs. The Blue Bird alternates between keeping her company and splashing around with the White Goose.

They stay at the pond till evening before they head back to their home. They make plans for a picnic with other animals in a week’s time before they say goodbye. She is pretty sure her fruit should be ripened by then. May be bake some cake and make jam to top it.

Or may be carrot cake. That never fails to please everybody.

Dinner is a bowl of vegetable soup. She thinks about foraging the forest tomorrow to find some mushroom. It has been a while since she has some nice, creamy mushroom soup. And it goes well with her carrots.

She reads her book in bed before her eyes start to droop and she realises that she’s been reading the same sentence twice.

Time for bed then.

—–

Day 23 —Pretend you’re a cartoon character.  What type of a character would you be?  What would a day in your life be like?

This was a difficult one. I started writing, thinking that it has to be a childhood cartoon character inspired which was how I came up with this character. And then I read the prompt again and realised that it didn’t have to be a cartoon character from my childhood. But I couldn’t think of any other ideas so I just kept going with the original xD

I apologise for the lack of creativity. I mean, a bunny doing gardening and being friend with a bird and a goose (who was a duck first, then got changed to a goose just now)?

Hope it wasn’t too rushed either… I am tired now though and sleep is calling me.

With love,

[30 Day Writing Challenge] Day 22

As always, here is the list of all of the 30 day challenge I am doing at the moment.

I suppose, today’s prompt is, once again, a creative so here goes.

—–

She woke up with a start, feeling disorientated by the unfamiliar sight of a wooden drawer. She frowned, a bit confused, until she remembered that she was in England, London specifically. Only then did she allow herself to relax.

It was only because she wanted to reach for her phone did she realise that she was holding onto something.

There was a key gripped tightly in her hand.

Her brows furrowed. She recognised the key, obviously, but why on Earth was she holding it? She must have taken it out yesterday and fell asleep before putting it back…?

A pecking sound could be heard by the window so she had to get out of bed. She put the gold key on the table before letting a brown owl in.

“‘Morning to you too,” she pet the familiar owl after she had retrieved the letter. Mirza still hadn’t taken off so she knew he was waiting for her reply to take back with him.

She quickly opened and read the letter before laughing to herself a little.

So impatient as always.

She quickly grabbed a pen before scribbling down her answer and sending it off with the owl.

Right, time to get ready if she didn’t want to be late to her breakfast.

It had been quite a few years since she was last in England. She missed the country and she hoped that some of her professors would be free to meet up during this school holiday. She even brought her old house scarf with her for old time sake even if it wasn’t cold enough to wear.

But first, she wanted to go check out her vault in Gringotts. Well, after breakfast anyway.

Her trip companion wasn’t too happy that she decided to not stay at the Leaky Cauldron. She had always loved the modern, Muggle part of London so she thought she’d enjoy it during this trip.

A full English breakfast down at the wizarding pub wasn’t a bad replacement from the breakfast at the Great Hall, so she would be happy to settle for that. There was a nice big cup of tea with her name on it too.

She made sure that she got everything in her bag, including the key to her Gringotts key. It wouldn’t do them any good if she had forgotten and had to come back for it.

She quickly navigated through the busy street before turning to Charing Cross Road. A familiar sign came into view not long after and she couldn’t stop the smile on her face as she entered.

It made her feel nostalgic, going into the Leaky Cauldron.

How many holidays had she spent here while she was at school in the UK?

How many days out with her friends had she grabbed a quick meal or a Butterbeer before, or after, a day spent in Diagon Alley?

She might not have been born here but this country was her home for 7 years.

It was good to be back.

—–

Day 22 —You wake up with a key gripped tightly in your hand.  How did you get this key?  What does it lock or unlock?

I came up with the idea that the key is a Gringotts key because I’m a Harry Potter fangirl and I can write whatever I want for my writing challenge xD

I loved having this opportunity to explore the ‘other me’ who did go to Hogwarts and what her story may be like. So yeah, this one wasn’t too difficult 🙂

A very busy day at work today so I won’t ramble on too much. Feeling sleepy now too, lol, but will have to get on with tomorrow’s entry because I won’t be back till pretty late tomorrow…

With love,

From GZ

PS – the cold is actually getting better towards the end of today. My nose was really stuffy this morning but it’s stop running now! xD Thank goodness for small mercies…

PPS – There were dumplings available for lunch today. So. Good. I’m loving dumplings more and more now!

[30 Day Writing Challenge] Day 21

As always, here is the list of all of the 30 day challenge I am doing at the moment.

Today’s prompt is, I suppose, quite creative so here goes.

—–

The alarm goes off at 7am as usual. It’s a Tuesday and I struggles a little to open my eyes. I can see some light filtering through the curtain and I wish it’s still the weekend.

When the second alarm goes, I grudgingly get up. I still want to eat something before I head out to work. A nice strong cup of tea is what I need to wake me up.

The breakfast is a quick affair and I’m out the door by 7.30am. The metro isn’t so busy, which is why I sacrifice another half an hour of sleep to avoid the crowd on my way to work. The music from my headphone helps drown out the surrounding and I am able to make it to the office in relative peace.

I’ve got a pretty busy day ahead of me today. There are products to be tested in the morning, in between replying to social media comments. And then, we will have to start filming for our Youtube channel in the afternoon.

By the time 10am rolls by, I have to get up to get another cup of tea. The product the company would like to launch next month is still behind schedule. The prototype we’ve got has so many small problems that I’m not sure how to get around it for the filming.

I go back to our social platform for a while, answering questions and replying to emails. It is quite a mind-numbing but time consuming task. I found it quite difficult in the beginning to balance the tone between polite but friendly. I spent quite a bit of time looking through forums to see how other people reply to these kind of things and kind of stumbled through.

I’d like to think I’m getting a hang of it now.

Lunch turns out to be a bit rushed because I lost track of time and I have to be there for the filming. It’s more challenging to produce a video, but also more fun. Our department has contributed to the content and we are hoping that the end result is what we want.

The filming takes up the whole afternoon and I nip in and out to get more emails replied. When 5pm rolls around, I find myself completely knackered. The filming isn’t quite finish yet but we all agree that wrapping it up tomorrow is better than ploughing through today.

I turn down an invite to go out for dinner because I feel like I’m coming down with a cold. I really don’t want to get sick so a quiet night in is probably more sensible.

As soon as I get home, I head to the fridge first to see what I can savage for a light dinner. Ends up just making soup to keep the cold at bay.

And then I plonk myself on the couch and get lost in the internet. I emerge for shower and then bed.

Hopefully, tomorrow is a good day.

—–

Day 21 —Find a job ad in the paper.  Write about your life if you had that job.

I didn’t find any paper so I just search for it on the internet. Really did find out for a Youtube channel manager or some sort so I used that as the idea. To be honest, there’s a routine there that is not that much different to my day now. I suppose I’m writing it more like a day in a life rather than my life in general… lol. And I have a cold at the moment so I thought I’d sneak that in too xD

And on that note, I’m going to sign off! Should really get an early night tonight so that cold won’t get worse… Stuffy nose now -_-

With love,

[30 Day Writing Challenge] Day 18

As always, here is the list of all of the 30 day challenge I am doing at the moment.

Here is my entry for today’s prompt.

—–

You can’t help but to grip the seat belt across your chest. Even though there is a barrier between you and the air outside, you can almost imagine the wind that would be blowing on your face with the speed we are going.

It might look good in the movie but this is real life. You are definitely more tensed than the one between the wheel but is that really a surprise? You knew what you were getting yourself into when you reluctantly agree to get into the car. Not that you could’ve said no, family member and all. Still, you kind of wish you have.

The car turns sharply and you think your knuckles are probably white now.

“Watch where you are going!!” The yelling from the driver seat made you close your eyes. Another sharp swerve and you send a prayer out to whoever is listening.

Please, you think almost desperately, if I make it out alive I will-

You would have been thrown out of the front window if it isn’t for the seat belt. You feel like your neck almost snap as the car breaks so suddenly from such speed.

“Why are you crossing now?! Don’t you have eyes to see that a car is coming?!?” The yelling is expected, the middle finger, not so much. But again, not really a surprise.

You know you have made some questionable decisions in your life, but this is probably in that top 5. You wonder dazedly if jumping out of the car now would be safer than to stay.

The buildings outside tell you that it’s not too far now till the destination and you hope and wish and pray that you will get there in one piece.

—–

Day 18 —Take a reader behind the wheel with the worst driver you’ve ever known.

I actually can’t decide who would be the worst driver I’ve ever known because I actually don’t worry too much when I am in the car. So I’ve taken this prompt down a more creative route ;D And I know that it’s a bit short but I really don’t have much idea for this one… ^^”

On another note, it has been such an unproductive day for me. Brought work home which I haven’t touched yet. What I have been doing, however, is listening to the soundtrack of La La Land. Oh, my goodness. I love the soundtrack of this film!! And the sets and costumes were so beautiful… Quite a joy to watch Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling too so it was a great day to spend part of a Friday night 😉

I’m going to sign off here now and try to be a bit more productive… *sighs*

Have a great weekend guys!

With love,

[30 Day Writing Challenge] Day 17

As always, here is the list of all of the 30 day challenge I am doing at the moment.

Here is my entry for today’s prompt.

Disclaimer: All of the characters are fictional. Any details that may be similar to a real person is entirely coincidental.

“Remind me again why we are doing this?” Jonny asked as he flipped a burger on the griddle.

“Because Nat asks us for a favor.” Scott replies from his fries station.

The reply shouldn’t be enough but it was. Nat is not the type of person to go around and ask for a favor easily. And you want to have that one favor owed from her because she can save your life later on, repaying that back. So you don’t turn Nat down when she asks for a favor.

Take Jonny for example. She’s the reason why he was still alive and well here.

Even if ‘here’ is in a fast-food restaurant owes by one of the richest families in the country.

“Did she say who we are covering for?” Jonny couldn’t help but ask. It was the lull in the afternoon and this was the first burger he had to cook in the last half an hour. He had half a mind to go grab the mop next just to have things to do.

“No, but I bet it’s for Clayton.” Scott seemed to have finished with his work as he moved to join Jonny in staring at the sizzling meat patty.

“I bet that it ain’t for Clayton. Can you imagine him working here?” Jonny raised his eyebrows at Scott’s suggestion.

The blond paused for a bit then laughed. It never failed to pull the corner of Jonny ‘s mouth into a smile when he hear that sound.

“Yeah, you’re right. I can’t imagine Clayton working here at all, he’d end up eating all of the fries and get fired. Even Tom wouldn’t be able to save his job.” The mirth in the blue eyes made Jonny forget about being grumpy over having to stay in door when it was such a beautiful day.

He snorted at what Scott had said though, “Please, Tom would more likely be the one who fire Clayton. Or he probably never would’ve been hired in the first place.”

“Yeah. Remember that time we did the barbecue in our Senior year?” Scott asked as he bumped his shoulder with him. Jonny would deny it to the end of his days that the action made his chest warm.

“How can I forget? That is the reason why Clayton is still banned from being near the food or the punch bowl!” They both snickered at the memories. Clayton decided that it would be funny to spike their already alcoholic sangria. And the caramel sauce for the grilled peach with ice cream dessert. They still cracked up about the resulting drunken snog between Tom and Teddy now.

Sometimes, Jonny wanted to pause and pinch himself to prove that this was his life for real. He had friends that had been with him over a decade long. And someone who he didn’t mind spending the afternoon with in the kitchen of a fast-food restaurant even if they could be outside, enjoying the Spring’s sun.

Life was pretty good.

Day 17 — Write a short scenario set in the kitchen of a fast-food restaurant.

This one was fast as soon as I decided on the characters! ;D
