Three months later, here’s another blog post. 😂 Not going to lie, work has been keeping me so busy and I’ve lost the drive to keep this blog updated. Not that there’s a lot of things to write up about, but still.
Anyway, it’s been a whirlwind of, more or less, a year at my new workplace. I actually can’t quite believe that I have completed my first year here already. It’s so great to be living in BKK once more.
My body has been through quite a bit for the past few months. My stomach had enough about a month ago and I had the worst gastritis I ever had because of stress then. I was on rice soup, banana, crackers and ginger tea diet for about 2 weeks.
Then I gradually introduced ‘solid’ food to my diet. I kept having minor setbacks when I overexerted my stomach but then had another bout of a mild case of food poisoning again last Tuesday. It was very frustrating this back and forth.
And then I started having mild stomach cramp again on Saturday but I started to notice that the pain was lower. It kinda felt more like period pain but I normally only have them on my first day. It wasn’t until Monday when the period came (and let me tell you, I have never been so happy to have my period in my life). But the cramp got worst! I actually had to knock back 2 tablets of pain killers, rather than just one like normal.
I’ve eased off the pain killer today and the cramp is back but it is at a more manageable level so hopefully, I’ll be all right tomorrow.
I have really been taking good care of my health, especially my stomach, recently because I have a big trip coming up! Keeping my fingers crossed for everything to go smoothly.
Anyway, now that I’m on my holiday, I have a lot more time to binge on shows people have been recommending me. The latest addiction is Queer Eye.
Oh. My. Goodness.
I loved the original Queer Eye for the Straight Guy and I am absolutely loving this new, reboot Queer Eye. I am in love with the Fab 5 and I’ve binged through Season 1 and half of Season 2 in two days. Giving myself a break today but I think I’ll finish it by tomorrow.
Then what will I do?!
Also, I’ve finished RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 10! Drag Race was the only show I followed consistently in the past few months or so. Season 10 has been so much fun to watch and I’m so happy for the newly crowned winner!
Aquaria really grew on me, I didn’t expect her to be funny! And the looks were fabbbbbb.
Though, my favourite of the season is still Miz Cracker. Her Review with a Jew is something I look forward every week, especially when she had the backstage stories to share with us. She is so funny and I can’t wait to see what she has for us next. Love her so much.
In terms of films I’ve seen since my last entry, here’s the updated list:
Avengers: Infinity War (27 April) – This film destroyed me. Absolutely destroyed me. I am now emotionally scared for life. Urgh. How dare you?!
Avengers: Infinity War (5 May) – Yes, I went to see it again a week later. I don’t know why I did that to myself. Watching it the second time didn’t make me feel any better. TT^TT
Deadpool 2 (15 May) – This film actually healed me somewhat from Infinity War. I laughed so much and was so entertained by it. 2 thumbs up Ryan Reynolds!
Solo: A Star Wars Story (6 June) – As a Star Wars fan, I had to go see this even if I had no expectation for it whatsoever. And it was probably a good thing that I had no expectation because I did have a great time watching it.
I kind of feel sorry for Alden Ehrenreich because there was, and is, no way anyone can be Harrison Ford’s Han Solo but Ehrenreich gave it a fair shot! I didn’t mind mind him being a younger version of Han Solo at all. It was great to see Chewy again and get the back story to how Han and Chewy started their partnership together.
I also enjoyed seeing Woody Harrelson on the big screen and I was surprised to see Daenerys Targaryen aka Emilia Clarke in the film as well! (I avoid all promotion materials when I make up my mind of a film I’d like to watch. Also, I’m so used to see Emilia with platinum blonde hair that I always can’t recognise her at first when I see her as a brunette. I am a bit embarassed to admit that I didn’t realise it was Clarke until I saw her name in the credit. 😂 I mean, I knew that I know this brunette actress with a British accent but there are quite a few of them now.)
(I didn’t not expect to see myself writing this much for Solo, lol.)
Oh! Also, it was a surprised seeing Paul Bettaney in a villainous role and I kept thinking to myself ‘It’s Vision!’ which made me cracked up and sad at the same time while watching it. Thanks a lot Infinity War!
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (10 June) – This was Chris Pratt’s chance to redeem himself from the shitshow that was Infinity War. And he kind of did. I still loved Blue, especially the parts when she was still young. So. Cute.
Ocean’s 8 (19 June) – Didn’t think I’d get to watch this but I’m so happy that I did. I’ve seen Ocean’s Eleven but isn’t a massive fan so I would have missed any Easter eggs to it. Went out on a Tuesday night with one of my colleagues-turn-friends and we both thoroughly enjoyed the film. It was clichéd but it’s a fun, summer film with an almost all female cast. I loved Cate Blanchett and Rihanna and Anne Hathaway and James Corden in it.
And I think we are up to date. I’m hoping to get a few more blog post up before my big trip but we’ll see…
Anyway, I hope you all are having a great week so far!
